Amendment to Federal Rule of Bankruptcy Procedure 1007(b)(7): Notification of Debtor's Completion of Post-Petition Instructional Course Concerning Personal Financial Management
Effective December 1, 2013, Federal Rule of Bankruptcy Procedure 1007(b)(7) allows an approved personal financial management course provider to notify the Court directly when an individual debtor completes a post-petition instructional course concerning personal financial management.
To notify of a debtor's course completion, an approved course provider must have an Approved Personal Financial Management Course Provider CM/ECF Account with the Court and electronically file the debtor's personal financial management course completion certificate.
An application to establish a CM/ECF Personal Financial Management Provider Account with the Court is available at http://www.canb.uscourts.gov/ecf/ecf-home .
Also effective December 1, 2013, an individual debtor should complete and file a Debtor's Certification of Completion of Instructional Course Concerning Financial Management (Official Form 23) only if an approved course provider has not already notified the Court of the debtor's completion of the course.
