Compact Disc, Tape, and Transcript Ordering


  1. A copy of the tape or compact disc recorded record of court proceedings is available at the rate of $26.00 each. Tape Order forms are available on this website as well as instructions for completing the form. You may also obtain the Tape Order form in the Clerk’s Office. Requests for copies are made in writing, preferably on the Tape Order form accompanied by a check made payable to “Clerk, U.S. Bankruptcy Court” for the exact amount and mailed to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, 1300 Clay Street, Third Floor, Oakland, CA, 94612.
  2. Official transcripts of court proceedings are available at the per page rate identified below. Transcript Order forms are available in the Clerk’s Office or on our website.
  3. To order a transcript, use the Transcript Order forms and accompanying instructions on this website. Please identify the date and time of the hearing as well as the case name and number. You will be provided a cost estimate, mailing instructions, and the name of the transcription firm. All requests for transcripts must be in writing, preferably on the Transcript Order forms and accompanied by a deposit (check or money order) for the amount of the estimate, made payable to the transcription firm and mailed to:

The above rates are applicable to each page of the transcript, excluding the certification page. Below is a description of the delivery times for each service.

Ordinary: A transcript to be delivered within thirty (30) calendar days after receipt of an order.
14-Day: A transcript to be delivered within fourteen (14) calendar days after receipt of an order.
Expedited: A transcript to be delivered within seven (7) calendar days after receipt of an order.
Daily: A transcript to be delivered following adjournment and prior to the normal opening hour of the court on the following morning whether or not it actually is a court day.
Hourly: A transcript of proceedings ordered under unusual circumstances to be delivered within two (2) hours.
Realtime: A draft unedited transcript produced by a certified realtime reporter as a byproduct of realtime to be delivered electronically during proceedings or immediately following adjournment.
