The Court will implement new internal procedures for processing adversary proceedings and involuntary cases effective October 30, 2017. Changes to CM/ECF events related to these procedures, as well as other event modifications, are posted at http://www.canb.uscourts.gov/ecf/new-in-ecf. Highlighted in particular for your attention are that "Status Conference" will be referred to as "Scheduling Conference," and plaintiffs will be able to specify which among multiple defendants are to be voluntarily dismissed from an adversary proceeding. Trustees: Please note that several events related to the Final Report or Account, Interim Report, and the Order Discharging Trustee will be modified.
In order to implement the necessary changes to comply with the December 1, 2017, Rule Changes and General Orders 34 and 35, CM/ECF will be unavailable on Friday, December 1, 2017, from 12 AM to 2 AM to install system modifications.

All divisions of the Bankruptcy Court will be closed on Monday, January 15th, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Public Access to electronic court records is now available at the San Francisco divisional office located at 450 Golden Gate Avenue.
In the event of a government shutdown and until further notice, all divisions will continue to operate under normal schedules, including matters set for hearing and public hours. The court's case management system (CM/ECF) and PACER, will remain available as well.
Despite a government shutdown, the federal Judiciary will remain open and can continue operations for approximately three weeks, through February 9, by using court fee balances and other funds not dependent on a new appropriation.
During this time, scheduled hearings will be held as usual, filings will be accepted, hours of operation, availability of systems, and other services will continue as normal. In the event circumstances change, the Court will provide notice of any changes to scheduled hearings and service levels.

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California has adopted new Guidelines for Valuing Collateral, available at http://www.canb.uscourts.gov/procedures/guidelines. This updated guideline replaces Guidelines for Valuing Collateral Under § 506 and FRBP 3012 in Individual Chapter 11 Cases and Chapter 13 Cases, dated August 9, 2017.

The Information Technology Department will perform a storage upgrade to CM/ECF next Saturday, March 17, 2018, between 7:00 AM to approximately 12:00 PM. During this time, CM/ECF will be unavailable and all users should log off of CM/ECF before 7:00 AM and should not log back in until after 12:00 PM.
