Effective June 11, 2018, to order a written transcript or an audio recording of a Court hearing follow the revised Transcript Order Instructions or Audio Ordering Instructions.
Effective June 11, 2018, the Court will implement new standardized District-wide procedures for internal processing of cases filed under Chapter 9 and Chapter 15, and Miscellaneous Proceedings. These new internal Court procedures do not change how a party files a Chapter 9, Chapter 15 or Miscellaneous Proceeding, and there are no related attorney event modifications in CM/ECF

Effective June 5, 2018, to change an address on an ECF account an attorney must submit a completed Request to Change Attorney Address in CM/ECF form to the Help Desk. This requirement is in addition to compliance with Civil Local Rule 3.11 (as incorporated by Bankruptcy Local Rule 1001-2(a)).

The Bench-Bar Liaison Committee (the “Committee”) is seeking members of the Bar to serve a three-year term on the Committee. There are currently five (5) vacancies in the Committee and service will commence on July 1, 2018.
Prospective Committee members should review the requirements and selection criteria of General Order No. 15. Trustees and employees of the U.S. Trustee are eligible to apply. Applicants must commit to participate in six to eight Committee meetings each year during their membership term and to otherwise actively further the Committee’s mission. The Information Technology Department will perform a storage upgrade to CM/ECF next Saturday, March 17, 2018, between 7:00 AM to approximately 12:00 PM. During this time, CM/ECF will be unavailable and all users should log off of CM/ECF before 7:00 AM and should not log back in until after 12:00 PM.

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California has adopted new Guidelines for Valuing Collateral, available at http://www.canb.uscourts.gov/procedures/guidelines. This updated guideline replaces Guidelines for Valuing Collateral Under § 506 and FRBP 3012 in Individual Chapter 11 Cases and Chapter 13 Cases, dated August 9, 2017.

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California has adopted a new Chapter 13 Plan (NDC 1-1), which becomes effective December 1, 2017. The plan and instructions are available at: http://www.canb.uscourts.gov/procedures/district
Despite a government shutdown, the federal Judiciary will remain open and can continue operations for approximately three weeks, through February 9, by using court fee balances and other funds not dependent on a new appropriation.
During this time, scheduled hearings will be held as usual, filings will be accepted, hours of operation, availability of systems, and other services will continue as normal. In the event circumstances change, the Court will provide notice of any changes to scheduled hearings and service levels.
Public Access to electronic court records is now available at the San Francisco divisional office located at 450 Golden Gate Avenue.

In order to implement the necessary changes to comply with the December 1, 2017, Rule Changes and General Orders 34 and 35, CM/ECF will be unavailable on Friday, December 1, 2017, from 12 AM to 2 AM to install system modifications.
The Court will implement new internal procedures for processing adversary proceedings and involuntary cases effective October 30, 2017. Changes to CM/ECF events related to these procedures, as well as other event modifications, are posted at http://www.canb.uscourts.gov/ecf/new-in-ecf. Highlighted in particular for your attention are that "Status Conference" will be referred to as "Scheduling Conference," and plaintiffs will be able to specify which among multiple defendants are to be voluntarily dismissed from an adversary proceeding.
